Andrea Valeria is a Shorty Award Finalist!

My friends, it's time to play the song it's a Party with Pop O.D. with Andrea V. on repeat... because it really is a party with Pop O.D.

Andrea Valeria (I speak in third person for SEO purposes) was nominated for a Shorty Award in the category of VideoBlogger. It's pretty cool if you take into consideration that I've been blogging for only 6 months now. Underdog, much?

Thanks to YOUR votes, I'm officially a finalist, as announced today on Huffington Post and the Shorty Awards official site. .THANK YOU.

Now, it's up to the Judges!
On April 8th, the awards ceremony will be held in New York, and the winners in each category will be announced. The tough job to pick a winner will be up to an esteemed panel of judges -from the Twitter queen, Alyssa Milano to Apple Co-Founder, Steve Wozniak.

Click HERE to find out who the rest of the judges are.

So... ummm... wish me luck and feel free to congratulate me by tweeting me at @itsaPopOD or by overdosing on my YouTube channel.

Dancing with the Stars Season 16: Cast Revealed!

Can you believe there have been 15 seasons of Dancing with the Stars already? Crazy!

I feel bad for the producers, because it's going to be hard to top last season -which was their first All-Star Season.

The cast was revealed during Good Morning America on Tuesday morning. I don't think I've ever said "WHO?!" so many times as when this underwhelming cast was announced. Lindsay Lohan would have been great for the show (ratings-wise) if she had accepted those $500K.

Enjoy reading the best predictions you'll read, plus a very interesting arrest count of the cast.

And the Season 16 Stars are...

Jennifer Lawrence: Best. Oscar Winner. Ever.

Jennifer Lawrence wins everything. She is perfect. Just look at her press interview post-win:

"Guys want to date her and girls want to be her"
Yeah, that was written with you in mind, JLaw.

And then there was this amazing moment with Jack Nicholson. After the break...

2.24.2013

The Best Moments of the Oscars 2013

1. Jennifer Lawrence
Wins, trips and works that fall like no other giving us the best one-liner of the night.
"You guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell." Gotta' love J-Law!

She also gave us the most GIFable moment of the night:

2. Ben Affleck
To you, smart-ass laughing at Ben's stuttering/high-speed speech, Argo F*ck Yourself!
I want to see you accepting an Oscar. Oh, you won't ever do that -what was I thinking?

What a fantastic moment for the snubbed Director to be able to go up there and receive the biggest honor of the night. Affleck made sure he got out everything on his mind, and for that reason, doubled the speed on the speech. Can't blame him. Who would want to get that nasty Jaws wrap-up music!?

"Doesn't matter how you get knocked down in life, because that's going to happen. All that matters is that you gotta get up" -Ben Affleck

Also, what's better than Affleck in the verge of tears?

Watch full acceptance speech:

3. Seth MacFarlane
Haters gonna' hate. The man was fantastic!

People calling him the worst Oscars host were obviously in a comma when Anne Hathaway and James Franco hosted.

Like I predicted HERE, he gave us voices, he plugged his movie Ted & he gave us lots of musical performances. I loved him.

4. The Whole Opening
From Seth to Channing Tatum and the ridiculously gorgeous Charlize Theron dancing! Who knew she could dance? One cannot simply fake ballet posture and I can spot proper ballet arms when I see them.

My favorite moment of the opening?
The Gay Men Chorus and this:
Seth MacFarlane: "Just so you know, I'm not actually a member of that chorus, I just join at the end there."
William Shatner: "Oh, trust me, in 2015 you join the chorus!"

WATCH THE WHOLE OPENING:

4. Well, These Women Can SING
Adele sings Skyfall. Kills it. Wears a black dress. And takes home the award. No surprises here.

The legendary Barbra Streisand performs during the In Memoriam.

Then, there was the amazing Jennifer Hudson performance of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going". Raise your hand if you were speechless after that performance. Oh, JHud.

Also, onto more important things. Let's discuss Jennifer Hudson's breasts here.

5. Daniel Day-Lewis
Wins Best Actor, making him the first actor to ever win 3 Oscars in this category!

Then, he gives us the BEST Acceptance Speech of the night. Let's give him an Oscar for that, too!

Class act. Watch:

Click here to read my predictions, which also happen to be the winners. 7/7 on major categories.

Best Dressed and Worst Dressed HERE.

Oscars 2013: Best and Worst Dressed

The Oscars is the one night of the the year in which you can bring out the super formal gowns, the hair up-dos, the diamonds -it's all encouraged!

The glam Red Carpet has seen historic dresses like that famous Elie Saab in which she received her Oscar, the Angelina Jolie leg and Hilary Swanks backless beauty.

If you're not into the fashion- read about the best moments of the ceremony HERE.

Who of will join these iconic Oscars fashion moments on the 2013 Oscars Red Carpet?

Best Dressed
1. Charlize Theron
The last time I hyperventilated over a Red Carpet look was also with Charlize in that pink Dior in the Golden Globes. Remember?

Charlize has done it again. You have to be amazingly gorgeous to pull off short Ellen DeGeneres hair and make it look sexy and stunning. She's wearing Dior Couture. Perfection.

2. Naomi Watts
The nominee picked a fantastic metallic Armani Prive that has landed her in my Best Dressed. Agree?

3. Amy Adams
We've seen her look fantastic and we've seen her look... well, not so fantastic. Today, she looked so pretty in this Oscar de la Renta gown.

4. Stacey Keibler
George Clooney, where are your height-increasing insoles?
Oh, well, let's look at his flawless girlfriend instead. The dress is by Naeem Khan.

5. Jane Fonda
How does one look that fantastic at age 75?
Those Jane Fonda Workout DVDs are going to be best-sellers tomorrow! Everything about this look is perfection -the sleeves, the color, the back. Jane is wearing Atelier Versace.

Worst Dressed

Oscars 2013: What To Expect!

If you want to read about the Oscar Nominees and Predictions, go here. If you want to know about everything else surrounding the greatest day of the year, then read on.

The Musical Perfomances
As usual, the nominees for Best Original Song perform at Hollywood's big night.

Adele
Tonight, expect Adele to perform Skyfall. Also, expect her to wear black.

Norah Jones
Another Grammy winner will also take the stage to sing the song from Seth MacFarlane's "Ted." That is Norah Jones, who had a cameo in the movie.

And, are you ready for this? The return of Barbra Streisand! Miss Streisand will be singing to honor the deceased stars in the In Memoriam.

The Host: Seth MacFarlane

Thank God we have a decent host this year to avoid another Anne Hathaway-James Franco fiasco.

Seth was a great pick. If you know him, you know he'll deliver some great musical skits. Also, expect LOTS of voices including 'Stewie' and 'Ted'.

It will very enjoyable to see the man plug each and every show and movie he's ever created. He's the king of Shameless Plugs (I'm the Queen).

Mr. MacFarlane is also nominated for best original song. Sadly, the host won't be a winner tonight, because Adele's in the same category.

The Speeches
Ben Affleck has delivered amazing acceptance speeches this awards season already. If he does take home that Best Picture award, he won't disappoint.

As great as it would be to have a 9-year-old give an acceptance speech, it won't happen. Instead, we'll probably be treated to another awkward speech by Miss Anne Hathaway, like this one at the Golden Globes:

The Red Carpet
80% of women in the world are actually watching the Oscars for the fashion! (Totally made-up statistic!)

Oscar Nominees and Predictions

One must not go into the Oscar Sunday marathon (Red Carpet countdown, Red Carpet & the actual Oscars) without having all the nominees straight. So, here you have it- a handy list with the nominees.

Already know the nominees? Then, read about what to expect at the ceremony HERE.

Best Picture
Zero Dark Thirty
Silver Linings Playbook
Lincoln
Les Miserables
Life of Pi
Amour
Django Unchained
Argo
Beasts of the Southern Wild

Prediction: Argo
You know they say awards shows like the Golden Globes are a good indicator of what will happen at the Oscars. Argo took the Golden Globe home. Also, they have a Critics Choice win and a SAG Award for Best Cast. If you haven't watched this one yet, you must -masterpiece!

Best Actress
Jessica Chastain, "Zero Dark Thirty"
Naomi Watts, "The Impossible"
Jennifer Lawrence, "Silver Linings Playbook"
Quvenzhane Wallis, "Beasts of the Southern Wild"
Emmanuelle Riva, "Amour"

Prediction: Jennifer Lawrence
As much as you may want the youngest actress ever nominated to an Oscar (Quvenzhane) or the oldest (Emmanuelle), Jennifer Lawrence is probably taking it home. The hilarious-in-real-life actress could already fill a room with the awards she has gotten for her role in Silver Linings.
Fun fact: Jennifer has never taken an acting class in her life. Talk about a natural!

By the way, here's a little tutorial from Quvenzhane herself on how to pronounce her unpronounceable name.

Best Actor
Daniel Day-Lewis, "Lincoln"
Denzel Washington, "Flight"
Joaquin Phoenix, "The Master"
Hugh Jackman, "Les Miserables"
Bradley Cooper, "Silver Linings Playbook"

Prediction: Daniel Day-Lewis
Do any of the other men think they have a chance at this? Hugh Jackman could be the only one to steal Daniel's thunder, but let's be realistic... it's not happening. This could be Day-Lewis' third Oscar. You go, Abe!

Best Supporting Actress
Anne Hathaway, "Les Miserables"
Sally Field, "Lincoln"
Jacki Weaver, "Silver Linings Playbook"
Helen Hunt, "The Sessions"
Amy Adams, "The Master"

Prediction: Anne Hathaway
Love her or hate her, her Les Mis performance was brilliant on every level. Also, one does not simply go through all that (physically and mentally) and does not take home an Oscar.

Let's remember she was depressed after shooting ended because filming was so grueling. Additionally, she lost 25 pounds and said goodbye to her long locks in the movie. We've forgiven her for her horrible Oscar hosting gig -and she deserves the Oscar.

Best Supporting Actor
Tommy Lee Jones, "Lincoln"
Philip Seymour Hoffman, "The Master"
Christoph Waltz, "Django Unchained"
Alan Arkin, "Argo"
Robert De Niro, "Silver Linings Playbook"

Prediction: Christoph Waltz
Did you watch Django? Done. The Oscar belongs to him! It's clear that the Academy likes him, as he recently got the golden statue for his work in Inglourious Basterds. If someone is going to beat Christoph (who recently did a great job in SNL!), it will be the legendary Robert De Niro... because he's legendary.

Best Director
Ang Lee, "Life of Pi"
Steven Spielberg, "Lincoln"
David O. Russell, "Silver Linings Playbook"
Michael Haneke, "Amour"
Behn Zeitlin, "Beasts of the Southern Wild"

Prediction: Ben Affleck
Oh, crap... not possible, because he was snubbed. You evil, Academy! Good thing is that we will still be treated (fingers-crossed) to his amazing speech-giving skills when he wins Best Picture.

Best Original Screenplay
Mark Boal, "Zero Dark Thirty"
Quentin Tarantino, "Django Unchained"
Wes Anderson, Roman Coppola, "Moonrise Kingdom"
Michel Haneke, "Amour"
John Gatins, "Flight"

Prediction: Quentin Tarantino
To me, the best Tarantino film, but I'm not in the Academy -yet. He didn't win for Inglorious Basterds. Will he take it home for Django? He should.

Best Adapted Screenplay
Tony Kushner, "Lincoln"
David O. Russell, "Silver Linings Playbook"
Chris Terrio, "Argo"
David Magee, "Life of Pi"
Benh Zeitlin, Lucy Alibar, "Beasts of the Southern Wild"

Prediction:
I have no freakin' idea. What is your prediction?

Best Original Song
"Before My Time" from "Chasing Ice"
"Everybody Needs A Best Friend" from "Ted"
"Pi's Lullaby" from "Life of Pie"
"Suddenly" from "Les Miserables"
"Skyfall" from "Skyfall"

Prediction: Adele
Why? Because, in the words of T-Pain, all she does is "win, win, win, no matter what."
Also, have you heard any of the other songs? Yeah, didn't think so.
P.S. Adele is performing!

Full list of nominations here.

Michelle Obama Dancing With Jimmy Fallon!

Seriously... Coolest. FLOTUS. Ever.

This happened Friday night on Jimmy Fallon

I can imagine Sasha and Malia dying of embarrassment, because no teenager likes to see their mom dancing -especially not doing the Dougie on National TV.

But, if you're not Sasha, Malia or Republican, you probably loved it. Right?

MUST-Watch Video: Jamie Grace

Tell me if you know anyone more talented than my friend Jamie Grace.

Not only does this Atlanta-native have a beyond gorgeous voice, but she's a very talented and creative musician.

And one thing we have in common? We spend nights/early mornings concocting creative works that we upload to YouTube.

Here's her latest, a live/acoustic loop she made from scratch. It's called "Show Jesus."

I tell you, it's a MUST-watch!

it's a Pop O.D. as seen on TV

You've seen it's a Pop O.D. on Youtube, but now it's a Pop O.D. has been on TV!

The morning of February 7, it's a Pop O.D. inundated the homes of Panamanian families for a full morning. First, in the morning newscast and later in the morning show of Telemetro Panama.

As you may know, Andrea Valeria has been nominated for a Shorty Award in the VideoBlogger category for her work as talent, cameraman and editor of her vlogs.

Beyonce Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance

All Hail Queen Beyonce!

No words needed. Just watch.

And you'd think that after all these years, Michelle Williams would have perfected her Booty Tooch.
Please show her how it's done!
Oh, Michelle...
And no one said it better than Mr. Carter himself:
Tweet from Jay Z after Beyonce's performance.
This photo is everything.
Beyonce ad Jay Z hugging after her performance.
And now, you've already watched Beyonce's halftime show... but have you watched a girl that overdoses in pop culture watching Beyonce perform?

You must WATCH:

To me, this was almost the Best Halftime Show Performance Ever.
It still doesn't top 2001's Aerosmith, 'N Sync & Britney Spears for me.

What do you think?

Young Rapper Astro: He Didn't Fall Off

Astro, The Astronomical Kid, Brian Bradley... call him how you wish, but make no mistake, he is a star.

You might remember Astro from Season 1 of The X Factor where he impressed America with his talent -not only was he an amazing rapper & performer, but unlike the other contestants, he wrote his own verses EVERY week.

I was impressed with him week after week, as you can see in my recaps from that season of The X Factor like this one when he performed a version of Jump or when he performed "I'll Be Missing You".

Astro was 14 at the time, now he's 16.
