Awards Season is Here!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Awards Season unofficially kicked off with the Critics Choice Awards this past Thursday with a Best Actress sweep by Jennifer Lawrence. She won Best Actress in an Action Movie and a Comedy!

There was also a surprising Best Director win for Ben Affleck –who did not get an Oscar nomination that same day. Conflicting opinions, Critics & Academy? [Insert sarcasm] Shocker!

It officially kicks off today - Why the Golden Globes?
...or the “Golden Gloves” like Sofia Vergara likes to call them.

It’s the Golden Globes on Sunday, January 13 that marks the beginning of Awards Season. And why do so many people love this show? They’re supposed to predict who wins at the Oscars!

It’s a Season for Fashionistas!
Some are most excited to see the dresses –after all, many women admit to watch the Red Carpet and skip the actual ceremony.  Who doesn’t want to see Anne Hathaway or Emma Stone talking to Seacrest and asking the tough questios: “who are you wearing” and “how long did it take you to get ready?”

What to expect?
Since the Golden Globes are a bit more casual than the Oscars, expect young presenters like Taylor Swift, Robert Pattinson, Megan Fox, aside from the Meryl Streeps and the George Clooneys.

Two of the most hilarious comediennes in the business will be hosting the Globes, so you don’t have to worry about missing Ricky Gervais. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will emcee the event and if the promos (and their general awesomeness in life) are any indication, it’s going to be a show to remember.

If you’re an Adele fan –the new mom is going to be gracing us with her first post-baby appearance.

The other cool thing about the Globes is that you’ll get the chance to see which one of your favorite celebrities finishes their plate like their mama told them and which don’t. The guests get to wine and dine during the ceremony on this fancy menu, while you watch from home and eat pizza and drink beers.

Oh- and there’s acceptance speeches, too! Go to the official Golden Globes website to learn who are all the potential acceptance-speech givers.
